The Young Guardians Babysitter Class

With over 45 combined years of experience in the early childhood field, the instructors have created a new babysitter class that will not only prepare you for your future babysitting career, but set you up for success in all your future endeavors.
This course is designed to prepare students to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.
Students will learn the following:
Safety Skills: How to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.
Child Care Skills: Students learn tips to manage behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. Students also learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering.
Life & Business Skills: The ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the future. Students practice these skills through various role plays
This course will also include the following
American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid CPR and AED certification
Abusive head trauma certification- also known as Shaken Baby Syndrome

Note:

All students must have their guardians fill out the attached waiver in order to participate in the Heartsaver portion of the class.
